About Me
Supporting You To Create Space And Awareness
I have always been drawn to the mysteries of life, the healing arts, and meaning-making—that is, how people construe, understand and make sense of life events, relationships, and themselves. The challenges we face in life can sometimes be daunting. However, when we are supported and encouraged to look more deeply inward, these challenges can become invitations for us to find a positive path toward self-growth and healing.
People and relationships are incredibly important to me. Supporting couples is especially meaningful, as I know the power of love and relationships. Above all else, as your therapist, I will support the innate wisdom you possess and will strive to guide you towards expanded emotional flexibility. Our therapy process together will be in service of creating a lightness of being within you that will deepen your capacity to experience the emotions of life with grace, ease, and pleasure.
Maternal Mental Health
I’ve always been fascinated by the rite of passage women experience in the process of childbirth and motherhood. However, as birth-givers, we are initiated into a sacred journey that although transformational, is not always easy or glamorous for us.
My greatest joy comes from being a wife and mother of two. I can deeply empathize with the multiplicity of experiences—both the happiness and challenges—that spring from parenthood. And let us not forget that motherhood is also a sisterhood. Having a fellow traveler, a compassionate person of support to normalize and make meaning of your experience, while also offering compassionate support along the way, can make all the difference in your mental outlook.
The gravitational pull towards this special season of life has led me to explore birth and postpartum in various facets. I am a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula and have specialized training from Postpartum Support International in Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). I also have specialized training in “Becoming Us,” a program designed to help couples strengthen their relationship in the face of the unique relationship challenges brought on by parenthood.
Couples Counseling
Relationships are what give us our purest delight—it is where we find deep connection with another person and learn the true meaning of love. And yet, most relationships will become complicated at one point or another along their evolution.
Helping couples deepen their connection and meaningful romantic journey is my passion. My experience in my own marriage gives me the capacity to intimately understand and appreciate the joys, challenges, and surprises that come along with an intimate relationship.
As a facilitator, I support the pivotal moment when couples are ready to explore their mutual love and inner development. I will guide you to stay in love by encouraging you to care for each other's emotional needs with attunement, improve communication, and create understanding in place of conflict.
My Background And Specialties
My approach to therapy draws from a unique background connected to nature, ritual, community, and travel. The significance I place on exploring one’s own interior wilderness informs my perspective and approach to healing. I initially landed on the path of psychotherapeutic support based on my own experiences with spiritual teachers and guides and my work in education and community building.
Through my studies and experiences, I eventually felt called to offer my own healing energy to the world. In my travels and learning, I had a profound realization about my own life work: In order to live in harmony and alignment with the earth and each other, we need to give healing Self-energy to ourselves first. This informed my pursuit to become a psychotherapist and I followed the call to bring illumination to people along their journey of healing, helping them find the inner wisdom they need to thrive.
Because the art and practice of psychotherapy is my passion, I am continually learning and adding to my clinical knowledge. I am a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy Level 2 therapist and trained in Internal Family Systems Level 2. I have extensive training in Buddhist psychology, Emotion Focused Therapy for couples and individuals, the Gottman Method, Sexual Health, and Relational Life Therapy.
My Practice
My energy is accepting of however you wish to show up for therapy—I will hold space for any emotion you are experiencing. Together we will welcome these emotions as a source of wisdom to be explored. Drawing from modalities that include Internal Family Systems, Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method among others, I strive to offer my clients deep and attuned self-exploration and emotion-focused work, while also imparting practical tools for nervous system regulation and relational communication systems.
As a therapist, I'm open-minded, naturally curious, and draw from many unique life experiences. I aim to be warm, real, and relatable. And although I’m sensitive and thoughtful, I also have a sense of humor and enjoy moments of levity in between the deep dives. It's not uncommon for a session with me to include tears, laughter, and everything in between.
I want my clients to feel comfortable, seen, and accepted in every session. In our therapeutic relationship, I will bring warmth to your experiences as you integrate all parts of yourself into one cohesive whole.
A Little More About Me
My favorite things to do for myself are snowboarding and practicing yoga. I also love gardening and hiking. As a mother most of my time these days is full-on #momlife creating memories, living life, and trying to find time to have date nights with my husband.
